India Wins Second Test Match Against Sri Lanka

India took over Sri Lanka in the second test match played at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur on Friday, with an innings win of 144 runs.
 
India had managed to raise a massive score of 642 runs in the first innings, while Sri Lanka was bowled out completely for 229 in the first innings, while they wound up for a 269 in the second innings.
 
Harbhajan Singh took three for 98 while debutant Pragyan Ojha bagged two for 36. Thilan Samaraweera was the top scorer with 78.
 
Middle-order batsman Thilan Samaraweera was at 54 during the interval with Ajantha Mendis (5), which gave India a chance to wrap up the Sri Lankan dreams.
 
Prasanna Jayawardene contributed 61 runs on the sixth wicket with Samaraweera but was bowled out Harbhajan at 29.
 
This is the 100th test win for the Indian cricket team. India thus took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The third Test is in Mumbai from Dec 2.
